Key Ingredient

Key Ingredient approached us with a slow expensive site running massively outdated technology. With over 100k recipes, thousands of articles, and a poorly maintained database, the site speeds were incredibly slow. Additionally, hosting and maintenance costs were astonishingly high.

Over the course of a few months, we migrated the site and all of it’s data into a newly created environment using .Net and MSSQL. This immediately dropped the hosting cost to less than 1/5th of the previous cost and improved the site speeds. In addition, our team cut their monthly maintenance costs in half.

Our next milestone was improving the search. The existing search was slow and sluggish. We opted to move the search to a document based system that drastically improved search speeds and overall site load times. We continued working with the Key Ingredient team adding new features, improving both admin and user functionality. Their site traffic grew immensely in the time we worked with them and the company was sold to a French conglomerate who later merged Key Ingredient into their own site.
